George Pérez 1954-2022 (1954-Forever in our hearts)

The time those of us who knew him either personally or through his amazing creative output have dreaded has come to pass. George Pérez has died.

I don’t have the words to express how much this man meant to me, and will continue to mean to me, but I have to try to say something.

I never met him or spoke with him; I only knew him through his work.

And that was enough to make me adore him.

I’m grateful for the time he was with us and for the work he produced, the worlds, the multiverse he gave us all, and the love for comics that he gave me.

I love comics, and I’ve been rewarded for that love with so much happiness and beauty and wonder.

George Pérez did that.

My deepest condolences go out to his family, his friends, and the countless fans like me.

Rest in peace, sir.
