Mail Call For 9.6.25

Under normal circumstances, a Mail Call is a happy occasion.

But this time…well.

Yeah, so, I backed this a long time ago, back before certain things were known about one of the authors.

Sometimes I can separate the art from the artist. Sometimes I can’t. This is a case where I really can’t, and it’s taken the joy out of so many works that once brought me so much happiness.

Like this one.

That said, he wasn’t the only or most important person involved, and it’s a work that – particularly in this case with the work done by Colleen Doran – feels less like it’s his than any of the rest of his collaborative work.

So I will try to celebrate the work of Doran and Pratchett, even through the sadness.

Anyway, here’s what else there is to see.

The jacket is reversible.

And, of course, there were goodies.

Again, while the monstrous actions of one of the people involved casts a pall on the work, it does not overshadow the works of the others who made it happen.

In particular, it does not take anything away from the brilliant and beautiful work of Colleen Doran for whom this was very clearly a labor of love.
