I know I’m the outlier, as is often the case, but I’m just not as enamored with this series as most other people I know. It’s not that I don’t like it – I’d drop it if I didn’t – but I just don’t feel as enthusiastic about it as everyone else I see talking about it. The Modern Take on the Silver Age™ thing that Waid does so often just feels kind of played out to me. But like I said, I know I’m the weirdo.

The jury’s still out on this one, but I do like that it’s sort of a throwback without being a throwback. Basically, some of the ’90sness without going full ’90s and managing to build on all of the stuff that’s happened since his original introduction back then. I kind of wish I had tradewaited, but I say that about every new series I start.

Taylor and Scott? It’s the Australian Invasion. I’ve been enjoying Taylor’s run on Nightwing (I’ve been tradewaiting on that), I love the Titans, and I’m always happy to see the art of Nicola Scott, so this was an obvious must-buy.

Nearing the end of a run from Cloonan and Conrad – about which I’ve had mixed feelings – as we prepare for the big anniversary issue and the launch of a new series later this summer. I ordered a variant of this issue online because I thought it was for an issue that had already been released and I’d missed it, but no, it was for this issue. And my shop had it, so I should have bought it there. Oh well.
