Once again some purchasing decisions were motivated by some discussion on Bluesky.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This time it was about which issues of Justice League of America<\/em> featured interior art by the late and legendary George P\u00e9rez.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He didn’t have a long run on interiors – though he did continue to do some covers – and I already had a few issues, so I figured I might as well get all of them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I already had #195-197, so that just left #200, and I figured I might as well fill the gap with the two issues in between, one of which featured P\u00e9rez on the cover art but not on interior art.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I had #185 and #186 when I was a kid as well as a couple of the other P\u00e9rez issues between #194 and #200 via mystery packs<\/a>, the latter of which I reacquired a while back.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I’d picked up #198-199 new, and while I no longer have those issues, I started buying JLA as regularly as I could for almost a year starting with #201. I was already a P\u00e9rez fan at that point, so I’m not sure why I didn’t get #200 back then. Maybe I just didn’t see it, or my mom wasn’t willing to pay $1.50 for a single comic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Or maybe I just randomly chose not to get it. It’s hard to say, as there was often neither rhyme nor reason as to which comics I did or didn’t go for as a kid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bonus: <\/h3>\n\n\n\n

It’s always kind of jarring\/darkly amusing to pick up an old comic and see an OJ Simpson ad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
