Another surprising, if considerably lighter, “THUD!” today, though this time it wasn’t because I forgot I’d bought it but because I didn’t expect it to arrive so quickly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is only the second original Treasury Edition in my collection, as most of the others are hardcover reprints, like this one<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Would I prefer having a copy in slightly better condition than this one? Sure, but I can’t complain, as I paid a fiar price and having a less-than pristine copy is better than not having one at all. (Even though comics this size are a pain for me to store.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a kid, this always struck me as a “versus” that was as uneven as Superman vs. Spider-Man, but back then I could only ever wonder what it was like, as I never saw a Treasury Edition in the wild, and unlike the second Superman and Spider-Man crossover, I never encountered a mass market paperback edition of this (if there was one).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It also stands out in my memory because a parody version of the cover appeared in an issue of Captain Carrot and His Amazing Zoo Crew<\/em>, being drawn by BC Comics artist Roger Rodney Rabbit, AKA Captain Carrot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
