Mail Call For 3.25.23

As noted in the previous post, there are three books that people on Comics Twitter have managed to get really good deals on at Ollie’s, but which were not in stock at the Ollie’s near me.

Because they weren’t available for me, but having seen them, I wanted then, I tracked down not-quite-as-good deals online and purchased them.

Here are the other two books I ordered. I got better deals on these than the book I posted yesterday, but still not quite as good as I might have had I found them at Ollie’s.

While I’m happy to have gotten them, and I’m okay with not getting the better deal on the price, I do have a problem with this purchase, one which you might be able to figure out on your own by looking at the volume numbers.

Yep, I managed to get Volume 1 and Volume 3, but whither Volume 2?

There seems to be a surplus of 1 and 3, to the extent that they can be had for considerably less than the cover price. Volume 2, however, seems to be a rarer commodity, as I’ve only been able to find it selling for much more than cover price (and more than I’m willing to pay).

I haven’t looked into it to find out why that is, but I will say that it is annoying, and there’s always a chance that my annoyance will wear away at my unwillingness to pay more than double the cover price for the second volume, and the day may come when you see it posted here (however ruefully).

Anyway, I got the things that I wanted from Ollie’s that I couldn’t get from Ollie’s, and that brings this exciting quest to an ultimately unsatisfying conclusion.
