Mail Call For 9.1.26

Full disclosure: I unexpectedly received this yesterday, but didn’t post it because I’d already posted an Unbagging and I don’t typically make two posts on the same day. There’s no reason that I shouldn’t, really, and I should probably do it, but…I don’t.

In any case, it was unexpected in that I didn’t know when it was going to arrive, but I did expect that it would arrive.

I’d like to include a lot of samples of the art – which includes covers, licensed works, pencils, creator-owned, unpublished works, and creator-owned art from the master artist and embellisher.

However, my one complaint about the book full of beautiful images is that it has a very tight spine that makes it hard to open it enough to fully appreciate the art, let alone photograph it.

But I did my best and took these pictures before frustration got the better of me.

Ultimately, I’m glad I have it – I’ve been a fan of Ordway’s work for longer than either of us would care to admit, I think – but I do wish the format of the book allowed for easier viewing. I would have gladly paid more for something more akin to an Artist’s Edition.

Still, I’ll take what I can get.
