Mail Call For 3.18.25
Before they teamed up to tell the story of Batman’s First Year, Frank Miller and David Mazzucchelli teamed up to tell the story of Daredevil’s worst year.
The storyline provided the name for current (as of this writing) Daredevil series on Disney+, which, fittingly, has a new episode airing tonight, though many of the story ideas were adapted during Daredevil’s Netflix run.
In any case, just in time for the Disney+ series, a very popular edition of that storyline received a new printing, and today, I received my copy of it.


Let’s take a look at some of the goodness inside.








Notice the gray of the sky in the top two panels and the blue of the sky in the other panels.





There’s an argument to be made for Born Again being my favorite thing written by Miller, and a big part of that is the art from Mazzucchelli. Really, it’s the fact that Mazzuccelli also drew Year One that keeps me from definitively calling Born Again my favorite.
All of the Artist’s Editions are cool, but this one is especially cool, and I have to admit that, because I really need to cut down on my spending, I almost gave this one a pass, I’m glad I didn’t.
