The Haul For 5.2.26

There was a cold breeze early on this Free Comic Book Day as I stood in line waiting for the shop to open, holding my raffle ticket and hoping that my winning streak would not come to an end, but fearing that it would as number after non-matching number was called out.

However, victory suddenly appeared in the form of something that I didn’t actually want for itself but rather for what it represents (winning).

With that out of the way, it was on to looking over the selection of Free Comic Book Day – and the inaugural, concurrent Comics Giveaway Day – comics on offer.

I think this is the first time I didn’t grab anything from DC or Marvel.

And, of course, while the comics are free to the customers, they aren’t free to the shops that give them out, so I did make sure to buy something while I was there.

I might have bought more if I’d had the patience to keep browsing, but while I’m always glad to see the shop crowded on this day of days, I don’t like being in that crowd.

As with previous years, the shop had a special guest who, among other credits, has appeared on The Mandalorian.

As meeting celebrities isn’t really my thing, I didn’t get into that line, but it looked like he had a fair number of people there to see him.

In any case, that was my haul for this Free Comic Book/Comics Giveaway Day. There’s is still, as of this writing, plenty of time for you to go out and get a haul of your own.
