Not-So Secret Identity

“Also, everyone I know is…kind of…dumb.”

Hey, so last week I announced that I’m working on a new, proper, serialized comic, and posted a preview. Still working on setting up the site for it and figuring out the posting schedule and format and whatnot, but while that comic will have a slightly more regular schedule than the (shitty) comics I post here, I also have an idea for another comic, one that will be a more-or-less self-contained one-pager, as can be seen above.

While it would be a mostly episodic strip, there might be some limited serialization, in the form of running gags, and recurring themes, but, ideally, any given strip should work (to the extent that it works at all) as a standalone entry.

As you can infer from the preview above, it would be a satirical look at super heroes, happening primarily during their off-hours. I’ve had the idea for a while, but I kind of feel like it’s been done to death, though, on the other hand, it hasn’t been done by me, so…

I still don’t have a name for it, but I was leaning towards something like “The Meta-Textual League.” Something like that, except, you know, good.

So what do you think? Something worth pursuing or nah? I can’t speak to how often I would be able to crank them out as I focus on the other, more involved comic, but I do like the idea of having some kind of recurring feature here.

Vote below, by December 13th, to let me know if you think I should pursue it, and feel free to suggest a name for the strip in the comics comments, or shoot me a line at comics@opendoor-comics.com.

Should I pursue this idea?
